About us

We are four brothers who grew up in the Vecht area. When we were young we often visited the pancake house in Vreeland. Here we have warm childhood memories. In October 2021, we brothers took over the restaurant in Vreeland. That was the beginning of Hendrik.

So our adventure began on the Vecht, where restaurant Hendrik has now been a beloved spot for young and old for years. A place where nostalgia, homeliness, hospitality and craftsmanship come together. With our fond memories as a basis, we put Hendrik on the map. By passing on the nostalgia from Vreeland to our hometown of Amsterdam, the circle is now complete.

At the end of 2025, we opened the doors of Hendrik Amsterdam, in a special place: the former restaurant Le Garage. After a thorough renovation, we created a cozy, village atmosphere here in the heart of the city: warm, convivial and casual. A place where you get together with friends, family or colleagues, and where children playfully make memories that stick.

In winter, a stove provides warmth, while children can have fun in our children's theater.

As in Vreeland, we cherish the old Dutch tradition of traditionally baked pancakes. Our menu also offers many other dishes: from an extensive lunch to changing seasonal dishes. In winter you can come to us for delicious cheese fondue, for example.
